Brow Aftercare…
Following the given aftercare instructions religiously and treating your new brows with extreme care is essential for the best healed results.
DAY 1: The Day of the Procedure
Open the provided packet of gauze and dampen it. Use damp gauze to gently wipe the brow area once every 30 minutes for 3 hours.
Allow brows to dry completely (PAT or BLOT… do not wipe as this can snag your brows) and apply a THIN layer of the provided aftercare ointment with a Q-tip after wiping the brow area.
After the 3 hours has passed, continue to observe the brow area, wipe and reapply aftercare ointment as needed. Oily and ethnic skin types will need to wipe throughout the entire day.
Before bed, wipe the brow area and allow the area to air dry completely. Reapply the aftercare ointment with a Q- tip.
Remember: Following Day 1 aftercare is extremely important. Wiping your brows frequently on day 1 will help to remove the hardening lymphatic fluids that produce thick scabs. Thick scabs = poor pigment retention.
DAY 2: The Day After the Procedure
In the morning and before bed, gently wipe the brow area with damp gauze. Allow the area to air dry completely and reapply a thin layer of the aftercare ointment.
DAY 3 – DAY 7: Continue Care
DO NOT GET BROWS WET. Apply a minimal amount of aftercare ointment with a Q- tip and spread it across your brows twice daily. Remember to never over hydrate the brows by making them visibly shiny. Oily skin types may need to blot gently around the brow area with oil sheets during this time. Dry skin types may need to apply more ointment as needed.
DAY 8 – Until Brows are Done Exfoliating
Wash twice daily by wetting your ring finger with water and then gently dabbing a small amount of the provided cleanser onto your brow your ring finger. Gently remove the soap with cool water and the pads of your fingers. Allow your brows to dry completely then apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.
Continue to apply ointment until the last scabs have exfoliated.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHOWERING & FACE WASHING:
Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair facing away from the water. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area. Day 2-7 do not splash water on the face area when washing and keep products far away from the brow area. Face wash should be removed with a gentle facial cloth, but never touching the brow area.
DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THE PROVIDED AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS.
Use ONLY the provided aftercare ointment, unless it presents a medical threat.
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color
No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks following procedure
Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one FULL week. Sweat can alter your healing and blur pigment.
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.
Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days. Steam is not good for your new brows!
Avoid swimming, lakes, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for the first 10 days
Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area while healing (4 WEEKS)
Avoid eyebrow grooming such as waxing, tweezing, etc. while the brows are still exfoliating (2 WEEKS MINIMUM)
Eyeliner Aftercare…
Do not use anything on the treated area (except your provided aftercare product) until healed. This this means no makeup, creams, chemicals, or water etc. (except for when cleansing as detailed below).
Immediately following your procedure, your skin will start forming a protective scab. You may see a fluid on the skin from lymph secretion. You will dab/blot the fluid off with a provided sterile gauze pad. If you allow the lymph secretion to build up it can crust the skin over and prevent it from breathing and/or healing.
You may have some swelling for up to 72 hours after your procedure. You may use the provided ice pack covered in a soft cloth as needed. It is advised to sleep slightly elated at night as well to help with any swelling you have.
After 24 hours, clean the treated area daily with mild warm water and the provided cleansing solution. To do so, wet your ring finger with warm water then gently dab the treated area 4 to 5 times with provided cleansing solution. Too much dabbing/ blotting could irritate the treated area, so 4 to 5 times is adequate. Then, blot completely dry. Be sure to use patting motions only. No Scrubbing. No rubbing. No wiping. No scratching. Make sure the area is completely dry, then apply a THIN layer of the provided aftercare ointment with a q-tip.
Apply the provided aftercare ointment to the treated area only when clean and completely dry. If you place the ointment on the area before it is completely dry, this may cause irritation and/or an infection which can lead to color loss. Reapply the ointment throughout the day as needed and when the treated area feels dry. You should apply 3-5 times daily.Be sure to apply the aftercare ointment gingerly. It is extremely important to only apply a thin layer! The skin must be able to breathe to heal. Too much product may fade the pigment.
In the morning, if eyes are stuck together, use a wet Q-tip to gently separate. Do not rub, peel or pick. Follow instructions for cleaning and for aftercare product application.
Do not use eyeshadow, eyelash curler, or mascara until healed 14 days. Once healed, replace old mascara tubes with new. Old eye makeup can contaminate the treated area.
No lash extension application for 2 weeks after procedure.
Do not wear contact lenses after the procedure for 24 hours.
Lip Blushing Aftercare…
Immediately After:
The area will feel sore and will look intense. There may be some swelling and minor bruising that only lasts for 1-2 days.
The next day, the color of the tattoo will darken as scabs begin to form, there may still be some swelling or minor bruising
The scabs will fall off within 3-10 days depending on your skin and the procedure you had done
The Day of Treatment:
Fluids will leak from the tattoo to form scabs. You do not want these fluids to sit on your tattoo and form these scabs. You will want to wipe your tattoo every hour with a damp cotton round and pat the area dry. You may ice the skin with the ice packs provided if it is feeling tender or swollen after the procedure.
Day 2-10
Do not touch your tattoo with dirty fingers, remember it is an opened and healing wound.
Don't get your tattoo too wet for too long. It will make the scabs soggy and easier to fall off prematurely. Remember, you want to keep the scabs on for as long as you can, let them fall off naturally. Scabs that fall off prematurely can take pigment with them.
Moisturize with the provided ointment as often as you like or feel necessary.
Do not sleep on your face to avoid lifting your scabs prematurely and make sure you’re sleeping on a clean pillowcase to avoid infection.
Avoid harsh cleansers, creams, makeup, or any other products on the treated area until all the scabs have naturally fallen off. These things can jeopardize the healing of the tattoo.
Don’t pick, scratch or bite off the scabs. Let the scabs fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring, loss of pigment, or an infection.
Do not expose your tattoo to UV rays or tanning beds for 4 weeks after the procedure. These things can alter the appearance of your tattoo dramatically.
Do not sweat on the tattoo until all the scabs have come off naturally. Sweat will take the pigment from your tattoo. If you do sweat on them, dab it off immediately.
Do not get any facials, Botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks post appointment date.
After Scabbing Phase:
Once the scabs have completely fallen off, you may apply makeup over the area and return back to your normal routine. Note that after the scabs come off your tattoo may have a milky/grey hue to it. This just means that the surface skin is healed but the underneath layers still need time to heal. The complete healing process takes 6 weeks. At 6 weeks the true and final color of the tattoo will show. It is only after 6 weeks that a touchup to the tattoo can be done.
Please note that your tattoo will be softer and not as crisp when healed.
Note that results will vary with each individual and are extremely dependent on your skin and how you care for it during healing. It may take more than one session to achieve your desired result.
Once Fully Healed:
It is strongly recommend that you do not use any of the following on your tattoo: Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, Glycolic acid, Apple cider vinegar, Vitamin E and C, and Retinol. these products can lighten or fade your tattoo faster. We also recommend wearing sunscreen as the UV rays will deteriorate the pigment and lighten or fade the tattoo faster as well. Salt water and chlorine can also deteriorate the pigment faster as well. Rinse with water after contact.
If you are having any laser or facial beauty treatments please inform your technician before procedures that you have a permanent makeup tattoo.
This treatment does fade after 1-3 years depending on your skin and lifestyle. Touch-ups are necessary to maintain the longevity and overall beauty of your tattoo. If you have oily skin, an iron deficiency, or a very strong immune system, your pigment will not last as long and will not heal as crisp as others.
